Symphytum × uplandicum

Symphytum × uplandicum

Russian Comphrey

This wonderful herbaceous perennial plant came to me by way of my friend Melissa in Taos. Evidently, it is happy in USDA Zones 2-9.   It is BIG and BOLD and already about 4 feet tall.  It has purple, magenta-pink flowers.  Last year I took a shovel to it and transplanted a chunk.  It did great and I will probably do that again this weekend.
